Letter: District 1 update
Cyndi Stevenson, Commissioner District 1
St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners
Dear Historic City News readers:
With the holiday season over and spring just around the corner, work on County projects and programs is gearing back up for a busy 2014.
For the third consecutive year, we are experiencing a significant increase in residential building permits and District 1 is one of the fastest growing areas. To help you find out what is going on in the County, the Growth Management Department and the GIS department created a great tool for your use, the Development Tracker Map. Click here to try the map today and see what is going on in your area.
Been to a park lately? This is also a great time of year to discover St. Johns County’s beautiful natural amenities. Explore nature and history, relax, surf, swim, play sports, fish, bring the children to a playscape, or skateboard. There are even parks for Fido. Our online Park List and Map is a great place to begin planning where you would like to go.
As evident in recent media stories, the future of our water supply is increasingly becoming an urgent topic of discussion for Northeast Florida. Check out the information below for an important update on the regional water supply meeting scheduled for January 30 in St. Johns County, as well as exciting news about the St. Johns River, and some kayaking opportunities in our area.
As a new year begins, your County Commissioners will be challenged with the task of balancing the community’s many capital improvement and basic maintenance needs with limited future revenues. As we embark on this process, please share your thoughts and ideas with me, and I will happy to share some of my goals for the year with you.
I can be reached in my office at 904.209.0301, on my cell phone at 904.669.2188, or via email at bccd1@sjcfl.us.
Please also send me an email and let me know what you want to see in this newsletter and I will work do provide the information you desire to receive. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your District 1 County Commissioner. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of assistance.
