Letter: Please ignore the lies in the recent attack brochures
Kim J. Kendall
County Commission Candidate
St Johns County, FL
Another offensive brochure arrived in mailboxes of Republican voters; sent using mailing permit number 4390. This one accuses me of support for Obama’s common core. All of you know that nothing could be further from the truth.
I have to shake my head at this desperate, last-minute attempt to lie to St Johns County’s voters in order to win an election. It is not an accident that these false allegations arrived at a time when there is no way to properly respond – except through social media.
Let me state emphatically and unequivocally:
• I do not support common core
• I do not support data mining
• I do not support the lack of parental involvement in our children’s education
• I am not for federal intrusion in our children’s education
I have worked hard to earn your support and I will not mislead or intentionally disappoint you. Can you say the same for the nameless, faceless, culprits hiding behind this anonymous brochure?
[alert-note]Tomorrow is Election Day. The overwhelming number of St Johns County voters have yet to vote. You must go to your precinct on TUESDAY, AUGUST 26th, before 7:00 p.m. to have your vote counted. We can show the BIG MONEY POLITICIANS that they cannot buy this election — no matter how hard they try.[/alert-note]

In case you missed my letter announcing these brochures, you can read it below:
WHO SENT OFFENSIVE MAILERS?
Two offensive mailers were just sent out – one against Incumbent Ron Sanchez and one against me. What do we know about these mailers?
All the mailers have the company’s bulk-rate permit code printed. The offensive mailers have permit code 4390 – Sanchez and I have different codes – All of Jeb Smith’s mailers have permit code 4390.
WHO IS TAKING MILLIONS IN GRANTS BUT SAYING SUBSIDIES ARE BAD?
$1.655 Million Grant #1: Jeb Smith took a $1.655 Million Grant from the State to “protect his land from eminent domain.” He had the option to “protect” his land with no compensation – yet he chose to take $1.655 Million from the taxpayers.
$1.7 Million Grant #2: Jeb Smith took money from Grant #1 to buy additional land. Then, he requested another grant last year from the State to “protect this new land.” His new land is on the State’s Top Tier Project Priority List, with an estimated
$1.7 Million expected to be awarded in 2014.

Yet, Jeb Smith states on his mailer that, “We must stop growing government on the backs of the next generation. One single subsidy will be the last straw.”
SERIOUSLY – DOES ANYONE BELIEVE THIS WHISPER CAMPAIGN?
I would never call Jeb’s church a cult. This did not come from me or my campaign.
I am for E-Verify – and I am for it to be reformed and properly implemented. Most importantly, it is the Federal Government’s duty to secure our borders, not the employers’ responsibility to do that job for them!
I am for term limits of 8 years for County Offices and for term limits of 8-12 years for State and Federal Offices.
I have not “stolen” campaign documents from Jeb to use against him. That’s not even possible – Jeb has an expensive Tallahassee consultant running his campaign!
WE ARE THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE!
Team Kendall is made up of 75 volunteers. We are the grassroots team. We are the voice of the people – not the powerful big-money political committees.
We can continue to have a few rich, influential groups run our county – or the people can take it back!
A previous election was won by 59 votes. EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
Paid by Kim Kendall, Republican, for St. Johns County Commission District 2
