Whitney Laboratory Lecture: Jellyfish Have Eyes – At 7 p.m., Dr. Joram Piatigorsky, a world-renowned vision researcher whose acclaimed research on eyes and evolution has been published extensively, gives the Whitney Laboratory’s 40th Anniversary Special Guest Lecture. Dr. Piatigorsky established the Laboratory of Molecular and Developmental Biology at the National Eye Institute in 1981 and served as its director until 2009 when he became an emeritus scientist. His debut novel, “Jellyfish Have Eyes,” is a riveting story about the direction and morality of research. A book signing takes place after his talk.
