St Augustine Beach Commissioner, Undine Pawlowski, says that she has set a fundraising goal to raise at least $5,000 for the local, non-profit charitable organization. Regardless how much she raises, she will have to raise more than Steve Alexander, Sid Ansbacher, Patrick Canan, Seth Corneal, Heidi Eddins Jimmerson, Mac McLeod, Dan Mowery, Jeremiah Mulligan, and Wade Taylor who are all competing to suck face with a piggy.
“I am honored to have been asked to participate in the annual Kiss the Pig fundraising event that will benefit Learn to Read of St Johns County,” Pawlowski told the St Augustine Sunrise Rotary who sponsors the popular event each spring.
If you are planning to witness the passion of a starry-eyed girl-meets-pig story, first you need to vote. Votes can be purchased for $1 per vote on the Kiss the Pig website at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/kiss-the-pig-2014-tickets-10450153691
Then, attend the famous Rhythm and Ribs Festival. On Saturday, April 5th, around noon, the winner will be announced and Learn to Read of St Johns County will introduce the romantic couple to each other for the first time.
Learn to Read’s trained volunteer tutors provide free tutoring services to individuals 16-years-old, and older, who need to improve their skills in reading, math, language, writing, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and help prepare students wishing to become US Citizens. Learn to Read was founded in 1986 by members of the American Association of University Women and is an IRS 501(c)3 designated charitable organization governed by a 12-member board of directors.
