Historic City News readers are being asked to help reconstruct the whereabouts of the 50-year-old woman whose body was recovered from the 800 block of North Ponte Vedra Boulevard Sunday morning, shortly before 7:30 a.m.
A woman walking her dog along the dune line found the remains of Yilka Martina Eusea, who authorities say resided in the beaches area. 23rd District Medical Examiner, Dr. Predrag Bulic, is conducting the post mortem examination of the body and evidence recovered from the scene. Dental records were available and assisted in the identification.
A Public Information Officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Eusea’s family last saw the victim last Tuesday, June 3rd. They became concerned after three-days past and they had not heard from her. Eusea was reported as “missing” on Friday, June 6th.
St Johns County Media Relations Officer, Kevin Kelshaw, has not reported any details as to why Eusea might have been in the area, or if she was visiting friends or family. Dr. Bulic is waiting on toxicology reports to determine if alcohol or drugs could have played a role in the woman’s death.
Family members provided blurry photographs from a cell phone to assist our readers in recognizing the woman; who was possibly seen in the area during the past week. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black capri pants with a tiny martini glass print, and light blue croc-type slip on shoes, and carrying a matching purse. She was 5’ tall, 150 pounds with long brown hair.
Detective Sean Tice at the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office needs your help to determine what happened to this woman. You can call him directly at (904) 209-2192.
