ERIC WESTAt the invitation of Assembly president, Eric West, Historic City News editor Michael Gold attended Saturday’s annual convention of the St. Johns County Republican Assembly. Participants in the public portion of the meeting included candidates for election in various seats being contested in the August 26th Primary Election.
Siting State Senator for District 6, John Thrasher, and US Congressman, Ron DeSantis, addressed the audience of about sixty members and guests.
“We are the Republican branch of the Republican Party,” West joked, during the meeting that began with a prayer, recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance, and singing of the national anthem.
A straw poll was taken at the conclusion of the rally of candidates and the results were reported to Historic City News this morning:
