Heather Neville is coordinating members of the Velo Fest community, and local bike riders from other organizations including St. Johns County Fire Rescue wille joining C.J. during the last leg of his ride for a reason on Saturday, November 22nd.
“C.J. is riding his bike across the country to raise awareness for childhood cancer,” Robshaw told Historic City News local reporters. “Along the way, C.J.’s story has received coverage from multiple news outlets helping to raise awareness for this worthy cause.”
You can follow C.J. during his final week on his facebook or stay up to date with his tweets on twitter.
When C. J. was just 6-years-old, like many little boys, he loved to ride his bike. After hearing a song on the radio and reading Colossians 3:23 from his Bible, he was inspired to ride his bike for a REASON. He has been able to ride over 2,500 miles over the past two years and raise over $20,000 for charities to help sick children all over the world.
Today, Sunday, is “Day 77”. C. J. and his crew find themselves in Branford, Florida. Tomorrow morning, Monday, 11/17/2014, they will set out from Branford headed for Starke. From there, the schedule is to travel to Palatka and then wrap in St. Augustine next weekend. According to Robshaw, they will ride to the Pier on Saturday November 22nd for the celebration.
In June of last year, C.J. was given an amazing opportunity to take over a non-profit corporation that was no longer being used. The paperwork was completed, a new board of directors was formed, and in July 2013 “loveFAR” was officially under his control. The new mission is “to ride a bike to raise money for kids who are in need or sick and to inspire others to do whatever they love to do for a reason.” Visit the Love for a Reason website for more information.
