St Johns County Supervisor of Elections, Vicky Oakes, has encouraged Historic City News readers who are eligible college students to apply for a $1,200 scholarship available through the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections.
Between now and March 17th, students who have already completed two years of junior college or undergraduate work can apply to the statewide professional organization for a scholarship if they are Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Journalism-Mass Communication majors.
“If you are enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in a senior college or university in Florida, in one of the selected areas of study, you should apply for one of these scholarship grants,” Oakes told Historic City News. “There will be a total of three scholarships awarded, and I would be proud to see a St Johns County student selected.”
The non-profit professional association represents the sixty-seven Supervisors of Elections offices throughout the State of Florida.
Guideline requirements and application forms are available on-line at www.votesjc.com or can be picked up at the Supervisor of Elections Office, 4455 Avenue A, Suite 101 – St. Augustine. You can call (904) 823-2238 for more information.
