After-school art lessons focus on Matisse

Historic City News readers who are parents of elementary and middle school-age children are invited to register for the St. Augustine Art Association’s “After School Art Studio” which will focus on creating drawing, painting and collage projects inspired by the colorful paintings of Henri Matisse.

Taught by award-winning portrait artist Laura Kubart, a certified art teacher, the fun and messy hands-on activities also explore art history, art principles and vocabulary.

Classes meet six Wednesdays, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on September 24th through October 29th and the cost for the six-week program is $125 which includes supplies. The St. Augustine Art Association is located at 22 Marine Street in St. Augustine’s Historic District.
