Media Relations Officer Kevin Kelshaw has informed Historic City News that robbery detectives are searching for a man who was caught on video as he robbed a RaceTrac convenience store night manager, at gunpoint, at 2:20 a.m. yesterday morning.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the robber entered the store, located at 2511 SR-207 in St Augustine, and walked around a food display near the front door. He approached the night manager from behind and pointed a gun towards him.
The manager and another employee were ordered to the front of the store and told to open the cash register. The manager placed an undisclosed amount of money into a plastic bag.
The robber, described as a black male approximately 5’7”/5’9” tall, 170 pounds, wearing a dark blue jump suite, a blue and white knitted cap, black boots, and black knitted gloves, took the cash and exited the store; headed north on SR-207 in a dark sedan.
Crime scene technicians collected physical evidence and surveillance video from the store while detectives are continuing the investigation today.
