This year’s festival will showcase the St. Augustine Maritime Heritage Foundation’s boatyard, complete with hands-on maritime activities and our newly christened, 16th century, utility workboat called the San Agustín.
Community members will compete in the Quick N’ Dirty boat building competition and race (complete with sails and rigging this year).
For the dog lover, the ever popular, fun-filled amateur dog agility competition called Astillero de Perro and Sunday’s Maritime Pup Parade. This four legged paw event’s proceeds will be donated to K9s for Warriors, Kidz Maritime Art Competition, and classic field games.
Additionally the SAMHF’s children’s maritime education corner will boast fun, hands-on activities, free face painting along, with other non-profit community organizations displays, food and beverages, music.
On Saturday afternoon there is the Bartender’s Chalupa Rum Challenge. Later that day is our “Saturday Evening at the Fountain Fine Food Faire Party” with delicious food by our sponsor SAIRA. Music by The Coconuts and a presentation by Dr. Roger Smith.
