Accused molester was staying in family’s home

An 8-year-old St Johns County girl told her mother that a family friend had molested and sexually assaulted her. Historic City News has learned that the molestation was said to have occurred numerous times since the 58-year-old man had been living in their home.

Last night, sheriff’s deputies took Ronnie Milton into custody and questioned him about the allegations after the child’s mother found her in Milton’s bed.

The joint investigation with the Department of Children and Family Services began Saturday. An interview with the girl and a member of the Child Protection Team took place yesterday, and precipitated the arrest.

Milton, who gave his address as 693 Madeore St in St Augustine, was located by deputies at a different residence and taken into custody, where he remains in lieu of $100,000 bond.
