Tonight’s guest speaker will be James K. Johns, St. Johns County Commissioner, for District 1. Johns was appointed by Governor Rick Scott on April 8, 2015, to fill the unexpired term of Florida Representative Cyndi Stevenson, who previously was serving her third term in that seat.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at the Village Inn located at 900 North Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St. Augustine.
Jimmy Johns grew up in Mandarin, Florida. He received dual degrees in Applied Physics from Jacksonville University and Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. During the 1990s Mr. Johns worked for International Paper Company as a project manager, responsible for compliance with the Federally-mandated Clean Air and Clean Water Acts.
In 2004, he founded Solid Rock Engineering Consultants, Inc., which now serves clients across the Southeastern United States, providing land planning, design and permitting services for private and public developments.
With continued growth in tourism, residential and commercial development, Johns says our county faces many challenges. Please join us for a very informative evening to discuss some of those challenges and address your opinions directly to your county commissioner.
There is no admission charge, and the presentation is open to the public, so bring a friend.
