Dennis W. Hollingsworth, C.F.C., cautions Historic City News readers that all remaining St. Johns County 2014 property taxes are due March 31st. Taxes not paid by March 31st will be become delinquent and a three percent (3%) penalty will be applied.
Florida Statutes 197.333 states, “Taxes shall become delinquent on April 1st following the year in which they are assessed.”
“For your convenience, taxes can be paid online at www.sjctax.us,” Hollingsworth reported. “You may also pay in person at any of five branch locations, or by mail you’re your payment is postmarked no later than the March 31st deadline.”
For taxpayers making their payment at the St. Johns County Tax Collector’s main office location at 4030 Lewis Speedway, in St. Augustine, will be open 8:30 a.m. till noon Saturday March 28th for tax collection and other services.
A team member will be outside the Lewis Speedway office, on the east circle driveway curb, on Monday, March 30th and Tuesday, March 31st from 9:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. to accept payments made with personal check, cashier’s check or money order. Cash will not be accepted curbside.
