Local attorney Hunter S. Conrad, a declared candidate for election as St Johns County Clerk of Court, will get the opportunity to make his mark on the office a little sooner than he had expected, according to an announcement received by Historic City News from the Executive Office of Governor today.
Governor Rick Scott has appointed 29-year-old Conrad to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Cheryl Strickland. He will serve a term beginning October 30, 2015, and ending January 2, 2017.
Conrad, and his wife Jane, live in the Moultrie area of St Augustine. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Greenville University and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Conrad is an attorney at Canan Law and previously worked as an assistant state attorney in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. He is also a member of the Jacksonville, St. Johns County, and Florida Bar associations.
Conrad volunteers with several civic organizations including the Rotary Club of St. Johns County, the United Way of St. Johns County, and the Women’s Refuge of St. Johns County.
