Join mayor for neighborhood walks this spring

Jerry Peters announced to local Historic City News reporters that he is organizing a new “Walks with the Mayor” activity to celebrate the arrival of spring.

The plan is to select different St Augustine neighborhoods for the walks, starting with the Flagler Model Land Neighborhood on Wednesday, April 8th.

“It’s time to enjoy the great outdoors, get some exercise, and enjoy our beautiful town,” Peters told Historic City News.  “Mayor Shaver thinks this is a great idea and she’d like to share it with you.”

To participate in the inaugural Wednesday walk, either start with Mayor Shaver at 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church at the corner of King Street and Riberia Street, or, if you prefer, meet her along the way and join in the fun.

“Ask questions, share your ideas and concerns, or just enjoy a healthy stroll,” Shaver replied, when asked why she believes residents will want to accompany her on the neighborhood walks.
