The plan is to select different St Augustine neighborhoods for the walks, starting with the Flagler Model Land Neighborhood on Wednesday, April 8th.
“It’s time to enjoy the great outdoors, get some exercise, and enjoy our beautiful town,” Peters told Historic City News. “Mayor Shaver thinks this is a great idea and she’d like to share it with you.”
To participate in the inaugural Wednesday walk, either start with Mayor Shaver at 6:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the First United Methodist Church at the corner of King Street and Riberia Street, or, if you prefer, meet her along the way and join in the fun.
“Ask questions, share your ideas and concerns, or just enjoy a healthy stroll,” Shaver replied, when asked why she believes residents will want to accompany her on the neighborhood walks.
Peters said that future Wednesday walks, and the neighborhood selected for that week, will be announced on the mayor’s website at http://nancyshaver.com, on her facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/MayorNancyShaver and in her twitter feed at https://twitter.com/mayorshaver.
