Learn about FairTax at Tea Party meeting

You are patriotically invited to attend the General meeting and free program of the Saint Augustine Tea Party on Tuesday evening, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Inn located at 900 North Ponce de Leon Boulevard in St. Augustine.

The Special Guest will be Paul Livingston, the Northeast Florida Director for the Fair Tax Organization.

“Mr. Livingston will explain how the FairTax Plan would completely eliminate over 75,000 pages of the current tax code,” chairman Lance Thate told Historic City News. “Best of all the FairTax Plan defunds and disbands the IRS!”

The FairTax proposal reforms the federal tax code of the United States. It would replace all federal income taxes (including the alternative minimum tax, corporate income taxes, and capital gains taxes), payroll taxes (including Social Security and Medicare taxes), gift taxes, and estate taxes with a single broad national consumption tax on retail sales.
