Letter: Sample St Augustine’s rich history

Dear Editor and Readers:
The St. Augustine Community Theater, located in the Ponce de Leon Mall, 2121 US-1 South, in St. Augustine, offers visitors an opportunity to take another look at local history, especially relevant during the month of February.
The exhibit, The Truth, The Light, opens this Saturday, February 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, reopening from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can also visit Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m., Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., or Tuesday and Wednesday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
On February 21st, The Civil Rights Memorial Projects Committee will unveil a commemorative marker at Zion Baptist Church, located at 94 Evergreen Avenue, in St. Augustine. The marker embraces the local history and authentic contribution to the civil rights movement in St. Augustine’s relatively recent history.
At 3:00 p.m., Lieutenant General Ronald L. Bailey, a native of St. Augustine, will be the keynote speaker.
