Letter: See me at the forum Tuesday evening

Dear Historic City News readers:
I have agreed to participate in the St Augustine Beach Civic Association General Election Candidate forum Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m. at St Augustine Beach City Hall. If you attend, or watch the broadcast on their website, you will have a better understanding of the important differences between me and my opponent.
- I am committed to watching out for the people of Florida, but you can’t be a trusted watchdog if you are conflicted by financial contributions from special interests or owe loyalty to one political party or the other.
- I am absolutely committed to the success of our locally owned and operated small businesses. And, to achieve that goal, I will do all that I can to deliver a smaller government with less business interference, and smaller taxes so that employers and employees get to enjoy the rewards of their success.
- I support a first-class public education system that is free from experiments on our children and “Common Core” standards that are, in my opinion, one of the greatest threats to providing our next generation with a better education.
I need your support and your vote. In return, I can deliver my full-time commitment to be a good steward for our community and our state.
I do not need your money. I need you to promise that you will turn out to vote on Tuesday April 7th, or during early voting March 28 – April 4, or by mail. A low voter turnout gives you less voice in how your government responds.
Visit my website electjudystevens.com for more details about how I will best serve and represent you in Tallahassee. I approved this message and paid for it to be delivered to you. I am a candidate for Florida House District 17, running without party affiliation. Get involved in my election campaign at electjudystevens.com/get-involved/ Thank you for your vote on April 7, 2015.
