Local funding from General Appropriations Act

275-General-Appropriations-On June 23rd, Historic City News obtained a copy of Senate Bill 2500A as approved by Governor Rick Scott.  The governor’s veto was applied to certain funding requests, the remainder move forward.

Senate Bill 2500A, the 2015-2016 General Appropriations Act, contains funding approvals that are identifiable to specific counties.

“We have some good news and some bad news,” Historic City News editor Michael Gold reported as the information was released.  “Funds for numerous St Johns County and St Augustine cultural and historic preservation programs totaling $89,981,779 got the nod, while two $500,000 requests by the University of Florida for historic property restoration and educational material were vetoed.”

In addition to items contained in the Tentative Work Program for Fiscal Year 2015-2016, state agencies will further allocate other funds contained in the General Appropriations Act based on their own authorized distribution methodologies.  This report includes all construction, right of way, or public transportation, $1 million or greater; as well as certain other projects included on approved lists, associated with specific appropriations where the list is referenced in proviso but the project is not specifically listed.
