Police locate Ponte Vedra Beach robbery suspect

Historic City News has been notified that the 22-year-old Ponte Vedra Beach man, being pursued by Jacksonville police officers into St Johns County last night, has been located in Duval County and taken into custody.

Taylor Austin Ryan, whose last known address was 720 Lake Stone Circle, fled on foot after crashing the 2004 Volvo XD9C he was driving. According to the Florida Highway Patrol crash report, neither Ryan nor his 23-year-old passenger, Heather A. Parrish also of Ponte Vedra Beach, were injured.

“Ryan was being sought in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Duval County last night,” Kevin Kelshaw, spokesman for the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office told local news reporters. “Ryan crossed county lines in an attempt to escape capture, placing many Ponte Vedra Beach residents on high alert, but he was unsuccessful.”

K-9 officers were employed to search that area and residents were asked to stay inside their homes and “be vigilant”. According to local criminal records, Ryan is also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on charges of burglary to a conveyance in 2010.
