While most banks were closed today for Columbus Day, Wells Fargo in Palm Coast was open for business; and, at the Belle Terre Parkway location, open for a bank robber.
Just before 2:00 p.m., a white man described as in his 20s to 30s, about 6 feet tall and a slender build, with facial hair, approached a teller inside the branch at Town Center, 836 Belle Terre Parkway, implying he had a weapon.
“Thanks to a video surveillance camera at the bank, we have a good image we hope will help identify the robber,” Flagler County Sheriff’s Detective Jodi Glasgow told Historic City News. “The robber was driving a black or maroon Buick Encore getaway car; reported stolen in Massachusetts, bearing dealer tag 265S.”
The robber wore a denim baseball cap, a pale pink or white long-sleeved shirt, and blue jeans. He fled with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was injured in the robbery.
