INMATES… The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will give a status update of the investigations of unnatural inmate deaths to the Senate Criminal Justice Committee 4 p.m. Monday in room 37 of the Senate building. The committee will hear from the Department of Corrections on suggested reforms and its 2015 budget request.
HIGHER EDUCATION… the Senate Higher Education Committee hears postsecondary options for students with disabilities 4 p.m. Monday in room 412 of the Knott building.

SWEARING IN… Gov. Rick Scott is set to be sworn in for a second term. The ceremony begins at the Florida Capitol at 11:20 a.m., with the actual swearing in to begin at 12 p.m.
WATER… The House Agriculture & Natural Resources Subcommittee will be hearing a presentation from the Department of Environmental Protection about the state of Florida’s water resources and the implementation of numeric nutrient criteria 2 p.m. Tuesday in room 102 of the House building.
SCHOOL FUNDING… The House Education Appropriations Subcommittee will hear the Legislative Budget Requests of the Department of Education, Office of Early Learning and the Board of Governors 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in room 17 of the House building.

PERFORMANCE FUNDING… The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Education will hear an update on performance funding for the State University System at 10 a.m. Wednesday in room 412 of the Knott building.
MEDICAID FUNDING… The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services receives a status report on the $ 2 billion Low-Income Pool, litigation involving the Agency of Persons with Disabilities and the Agency for Health Care Administration and the implementation of child welfare legislation 10 a.m. Wednesday in room 401 of the Senate building.
CONSERVATION LANDS… The Senate Environmental Preservation and Conservation Committee will hear a staff presentation on the Florida Water and Land Conservation and discuss the implementation of the recently passed Amendment #1. The presentation is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in room 37 of the Senate building.

CANDIDATE FORUM… The Flagler County Young Republicans and the Flagler County Republican Club sponsor a candidate forum for GOP candidates in the special elections for House District 24 and Senate District 6. The event begins 7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Coast.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE… Candidates in the special election for House District 13 have a Friday deadline to report campaign finance for most of December. Former Democratic Rep. Reggie Fullwood had a large advantage in the last report.
PREFERRED DRUG LIST… Recommendations for drugs to be included on the Medicaid Preferred Drug List will be heard by the state’s Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee 1 p.m. Friday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Tampa
