CONSERVATION… The Senate Agriculture Committee discusses the recently passed Amendment #1 and receives an updated on the Apalachicola River Basin and Bay 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in room 301 of the Senate building. The committee will also look at Florida’s bear population, as FWC considers allowing bear hunting as a population management tool.
GUNS… The House Criminal Justice Subcommittee considers HB 4005 on allowing concealed weapons to be carried on college campuses 4 p.m. Tuesday in room 404 of the House building.
EDUCATION FUNDING… The House Education Appropriations Subcommittee reviews the funding formulas and major programs within the education budget 4 p.m. Tuesday in room 17 of the House building.

UNIVERSITIES… The Board of Governors of the State University System meet for two days at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville starting Wednesday. It is expected to approve its list of construction projects.
EARLY LEARNING… The Senate Education Pre-K-12 Committee considers its large early learning reform package, SPB 7006, 9 a.m. Wednesday in room 412 of the Knott building.
GREYHOUNDS… The Senate Regulated Industries Committee considers legislation named after the wife of former Senate President Don Gaetz requiring operators to report greyhound injuries 9 a.m. Wednesday in room 110 of the Senate building.
THRIFT WEEK… Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater gives a special presentation at a James Madison Institute luncheon in celebration of Thrift Week. The event starts at 11:45 a.m. at JMI headquarters.

CHILD ABUSE… The Senate Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee hears presentations on implementing 2014 reforms 8:30 a.m. Thursday in room 301 of the Senate building. The House Children, Families & Seniors Subcommittee will also receive an update 9 a.m. Thursday in room 12 of the House building.
HEALTH FUNDING… The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services discusses 2015-16 budget issues for the state health agencies 10:30 a.m. Thursday in room 401 of the Senate building.
LONG-TERM BUDGET… The Senate Appropriations Committee sees a presentation on the state’s long-term financial outlook by chief economist Amy Baker 1 p.m. Thursday in room 412 of the Knott building. It will also hold a discussion on the significant issues affecting the budget.
WATER POLICY… Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam addresses the House State Affairs Committee on water policy 1 p.m. Thursday in room 17 of the House building.

EDUCATION POLICY… Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart appears before the House Education Committee 8:30 a.m. Friday in room 102 of the House building. The panel will also receive updates on early learning staffing and virtual education.
MANAGED CARE… The House Health & Human Services Committee receives an update on the implementation of Medicaid Managed Care from the Agency for Health Care Administration 9 a.m. Friday in room 17 of the House building.
