The St. Johns County School District is asking Historic City News to announce that on Friday, August 7th from 8:00 a.m. until noon, students and parents are invited to attend a district-wide orientation including an opportunity to get supply lists, receive class schedules, and meet teachers.
The first day of class for the 2015-2016 school year is Monday, August 10th; however, it is not too early for parents to register their children for school.
“We recommended that parents access the registration requirements and locate their child’s attendance zone by visiting the school district website then clicking on the Families tab as soon as possible,” said Chief of Community Relations Christina Langston. “Additional information on registration and school attendance zones may be obtained from the Student Services Office by calling 904-547-7797.”
The purpose of early registration is to help reduce the number of students who need to be enrolled at the beginning of school and to help the district prepare for the appropriate number of teachers.
While many schools have scheduled orientations on other dates and times, staff will be available at all schools on Friday, August 7th from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Parents are asked to call or visit the school website to verify any changes in orientation and open house dates.
