VIA AIR will increase service from St Augustine Airport

Posted on 01/23/201501/26/2015 By Historic City News

400-ViaAir-AircraftMitch Pizik, EVP Sales and Marketing for VIA Air, shared good news with Historic City News local reporters today when the official announcement was made that the airline will continue to provide passenger service from Northeast Florida Regional Airport in St Augustine to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

After the success of a seasonal trial, scheduled service from St. Augustine to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, with continuing service to Raleigh Country Memorial Airport, will be offered; beginning February 13th through the end of 2015.

“ViaAir is excited to offer even more low-cost travel options to St. Augustine, Charlotte, Beckley West Virginia, and their surrounding communities,” Irit Vizer, President and COO of ViaAir told local news reporters. “We pride ourselves at being more than just air transportation; as such we always go above and beyond for our passengers, as proven by our excellent client satisfaction rate.”

Regular Thursday and Sunday service will continue through 2015, but Historic City News was informed that there will be increased service available for the Daytona 500 and Budweiser Speed Weeks on the following dates:

February 13, 15, 16, 18, and 20-23

Daytona is a little over an hour’s drive south from St. Augustine on either I-95 or US-1. If travel plans allow, consider the scenic route along the Atlantic Ocean, SR-A1A.

Fares to St. Augustine from Charlotte, NC will start at $139 one way and $160 one way from Beckley, WV (inclusive of fees and taxes).

Reservations for all flights can be made at FlyViaAir.com or by calling ViaAir’s 24 hour service and reservation desk at 800-565-5042.

ViaAir service is operated by 30-seat Embraer EMB-120 aircraft, the fastest, lightest, and most economical aircraft in its class. The EMB-120 is safe, reliable, quick, and provides passengers with ample leg room, as well as a sizable baggage compartment.

In addition to saving money at Northeast Florida Regional Airport (UST) customers will also save time. Conveniently located, the airport allows customers to enjoy a hassle-free, relaxed airport experience complete with inexpensive parking options.
