What does it mean to be white?

Historic City News has learned that, in less than two-weeks, the television network MTV-Music Television has scheduled the launch of a highly controversial documentary show titled, “White People”.

With so much recent racial unrest around the country, including the AME Church murders in Charleston, South Carolina, rioting in West Baltimore, Maryland, and the police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, not to mention last week’s decision to remove the Confederate flag from the grounds of the South Carolina state house, some Historic City News readers are asking “why now?”

“We want to know exactly when bias becomes a problem,” MTV writers told local Historic City News reporters. “We look at some of the most common kinds of bias. In addition to racial bias, we’ll look at gender bias and anti-LGBT bias to determine what you can do, how to get started, and how to go deeper.”

You’ll be able to catch the first episode of “White People” on Wednesday, July 22nd at 8:00 p.m. on MTV.

The producers and directors are saying their objective in airing “White People” is to publicly shame Caucasian American’s and to show them what they’ve done in America, according to a network spokesman.

The documentary is being hosted by Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and amnesty activist who has worked for the Washington Post and the Huffington Post.

The trailer for the show makes it seem like all Caucasians are racists and that they offend people. As the pilot progresses, Vargas has several of the teen-aged participants in tears.
