The suspect, identified as Luis Michael Maldonado Sr., 48, 10535 Isom Ave., has four outstanding arrest warrants for grand theft as well as four additional cases pending review at the State Attorney’s Office.
Maldonado is also on four-years’ probation for three additional counts of grand theft that he was found guilty four months ago.
Maldonado is the owner of M & M Fence Company and is accused of entering in contracts with victims and demanding partial payments for fencing work.
According to St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Detectives, the four current investigations reveal that the suspect would cash the victim’s checks and then make no effort to begin work or contact the victims. Two of these cases are from last summer and the other two are from April of this year.
Additional charges are pending further investigation. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Maldonado are asked to contact the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office at (904) 824-8304. You can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling CrimeStoppers of N.E. Florida at 1-(888) 277-TIPS (8477).
