The U.S. Coast Guard reported to Historic City News the ocean recovery of a body that is believed to be 59-year-old Kenton Miller of Elkton, the missing paddle boarder reported Sunday.
The body was discovered about 7 miles south of the Ocean Trace Ramp. The paddle board was also located by the Coast Guard.
Major Crimes Detectives with the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office believe that the body is that of the missing person, however, positive identification will be determined from the District Medical Examiner’s Office.
Miller went paddle boarding in the area of Ocean Trace Rd. Sunday afternoon. His wife contacted the Sheriff’s Office Sunday evening when Mr. Miller did return home.
His 2015 Ford F-150 was located on the beach however Kenton and his paddle board were not located.
There are no signs of foul play as Major Crimes Detectives continue the investigation.
