Florida’s growing, more sophisticated beer scene will grow by one more craft brewery location Friday when Historic City News welcomes Bog Brewing to its newly renovated location at 218 West King Street.
Owners Steven Mendoza, John France, and Jeffrey Hayes, are hoping to capture some of the foot traffic generated by a growing number of family-friendly businesses locating in the West King Street Business District.
“A lot of people are excited that stuff is happening on this side of town,” Mendoza said in an interview published in Jacksonville Business Journal today. “We want to be the local spot to grab a pint.”
Bog Brewing occupies a 1600-square-foot space that has undergone extensive, restorative renovation over the past year. The partners have made an effort to repurpose as much as possible; creating the neighborhood taproom atmosphere they hope will attract patrons.
Mendoza says that Bog will be serving up a little something for the beer nerds; starting with a wheat IPA, a single hop IPA, a cream ale, a peach mango IPA, a chipotle cream ale and a chipotle porter.
The brewery will be open on Wednesday through Sunday. Bog will be open between 4:00 p.m. and midnight on Wednesday and Thursday; 12:00 noon until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
