Historic City News was informed today that Sheriff David Shoar promoted 45-year-old Howard F “Skip” Cole from Major Crimes Unit Commander to Commander of Central Investigations.
Cole has been with the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office since November, 1999, and he is a graduate of Flagler College in St Augustine where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration.
“Our college and program are especially proud of Commander Cole. He is universally respected for his leadership and perseverance in the pursuit of justice for victims and their families,” said Dr. Joseph Saviak, Associate professor at Flagler College. “Excellence is his single standard in everything that he does.”
Cole, who earned $74,337.95 in his previous position, replaces the open position vacated by Commander Charles E. Bradley, II who was promoted to Chief, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Chuck Mulligan.
