Culhane’s Irish Pub is the newest pub for sports fans

275-euro-2016-logoThe Sisters at Culhane’s Irish Pub in Atlantic Beach reported to Historic City News this week that they are excited to be the premier establishment to watch every game of the Euro 2016 Soccer Tournament Championship which starts this weekend.

The entire tournament from the opening rounds to the championship will be aired at the pub which underwent extensive renovations to celebrate their recent ten year anniversary last year and just recently celebrated its eleventh anniversary this past May.

“We are proud to be known as Jacksonville’s Premier International Sports Pub,” said Mary Jane Culhane, one of the pub’s owners.  “It’s just a part of our goal in recreating that true Irish pub atmosphere that’s filled with friendly conversation, excellent fare and libations that would make our ancestors proud.”

Upgrades include the addition of 20 new 60-inch HD Televisions as well as a new high-tech audio system.  A view of the renovations can be found here. Culhane invited readers to drop by, enjoy the live games and receive a Céad Mile Fáilte (One Hundred Thousand Welcomes) from our Irish management team Gerry, Tara and Brian.

June also sees the hosting of the Copa De America in addition to the Euro 2016 soccer tournament.  This makes for an exciting time for soccer enthusiasts.  The pub is a strong base for local teams including the Jacksonville Armada FC and one of the Jacksonville Axemen Rugby supporter hubs.  A popular headquarters for EPL’s upcoming season.  All games shown live no matter the time and sports schedule can be found on their website.

Also an established entertainment venue, Culhane’s honors Irish heritage with fun events such as live music, sports, Irish dancers, pipes and drums.   And if that and the food are not enough to put Culhane’s guests in the best of spirits, the sisters all possess the “gift of the gab” — an uncanny Irish knack for conversation and friendliness that makes everyone feel at home.

Established in 2005, Culhane’s has become one of the best Irish pubs in the country (America’s Best and Top Ten, 2011) and has been featured on national television including the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Authentic, fresh cuisine serving Greater Jacksonville, the sisters (Lynda, Michelle, Mary Jane and Áine) are the first generation to emigrate from Shanagolden in County Limerick of Ireland in the 1990’s. The family farm is where the sisters developed a genuine love for the land, wholesome food and Irish traditions. Culhane’s Irish Pub is where one can revel in friendly banter, delicious food and perfect pints. The Culhane Sisters strive to bring to North Florida a real taste of Ireland.
