Fall Art & Craft Festival at Francis Field this weekend

Posted on 11/25/2016 By Historic City News

275-art-craft-festivalThe St. Augustine Art Association has invited all Historic City News readers to attend the 51st Annual St. Augustine Art & Craft Festival this weekend at Francis Field. With the support of hundreds of community volunteers, the Art Association has been staging the annual St. Augustine Art & Craft Festival for decades.

This popular juried art fair showcases 150 top national and regional artists exhibiting paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, woodworks, glass and other unique fine art creations.

“With years of experience organizing art festivals and gallery exhibitions, the St. Augustine Art Association works year-round to bring a diversity of artists, cultural organizations and the community together for this time-honored Thanksgiving tradition,” President Diane Bradley told local Historic City News reporters.

Surrounded by history in a thriving cultural community, the St. Augustine Art & Craft Festival attracts artists, discerning shoppers, art collectors, visitors and families alike. Proceeds from the two-day event support the art education programs and art outreach of the non-profit organization.

From humble beginnings in 1934 when the Arts Club hosted an Art Mart in the Old Spanish Treasury, the Festival has established itself today as the centerpiece of St. Augustine’s vibrant arts scene.

International foods, live music, Colonial crafts, Kids Art Zone and the citywide Nights of Lights combine to create a memorable holiday experience.

Hours:

  • Saturday November 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Sunday November 27 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Francis Field, located at 14 West Castillo Drive

This St Augustine Thanksgiving tradition features fine artists and artisans exhibiting paintings, sculpture, jewelry, glass, wood, wearable art and other original creations that are the highlight of this juried outdoor art fair.  There will be live music, cultural and children’s activities, demonstrations, with food trucks and brew stations to create a memorable start to the holiday shopping season.
