Late yesterday afternoon, Historic City News was informed that St. Johns County Fire Rescue was called to a residential structure fire in the 40 block of Andora Street in St. Augustine Shores.
First arriving crews found a single story home with heavy smoke showing from the attic and rear. Crews from Engine and Rescue 11 conducted a primary search of the structure utilizing a thermal imaging camera.
A small dog named “Buddy” was found to be hiding in a closet. He was safely brought out of the home and returned to the homeowner.
Due to the quick location and successful extinguishment the main body of the fire, damages to the home were minimized.
There were no injuries reported during the incident; the cause of the fire remains under investigation by Fire Rescue.
