Historic City News readers will enjoy another summer of free swimming at the Willie Galimore Center Community Pool, owned by the City of St Augustine and managed by the St Augustine Family YMCA.
Now in its fourth summer of operation, the Galimore Pool has proven to be one of the community’s most popular summer gathering spots for families and friends.
“As we have in the past, the pool’s summer long season starts on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, May 27th, and continues through Labor Day, September 5th,” Paul Williamson, the City’s director of Public Affairs.
The Galimore Community Pool features lap lanes, a swim instructional area, locker rooms with showers, and ADA standards featuring a handicap accessible pool lift.
The pool of the Willie Galimore Community Center at 399 Riberia Street will be open every day of the week according to the following schedule:

Open Swim is open for families, lap swimmers, and anyone who wants to use the pool. Lap Swimming is based on pool capacity.
The aquatics staff will do its best to accommodate all visitors and will keep at least one lane available for lap swimming. Please see the head lifeguard on duty if you have any questions.
Participants under 15 years of age are required to be swim tested by a certified YMCA lifeguard or swim instructor.
