Dear Election Day voters:

Early voting in person and by mail in this election has been record breaking. Combined voter turnout for St Johns County was at 56% at the close of early voting. I expect this will be the best election turnout we have seen in a number of years. My projection is 84% voter turnout for the General Election.

Here are some tips for making your Election Day voting experience go smoothly on Tuesday. The polls are open 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

If your address has changed, please call us before you go to vote so we can update your information and send you to the correct polling place the first time. This can be a real time saver.

You are required to vote at your assigned polling location. Do not go to one of our early voting sites unless it is your assigned election day polling location. If you do, you will be rerouted to your correct polling location.

Not sure where you vote? Use the Voter Lookup at votesjc.com to verify your voter registration, locate your polling place and view your sample ballot, or simply give the Elections Office a call at 904-823-2238. Your election day polling location is also printed on your sample ballot.

Remember to bring current and valid photo and signature ID. If you don’t have proper ID, you must vote a provisional ballot. The acceptable forms of ID are listed on your sample ballot and on our website.

Study your sample ballot and be prepared to vote. The ballot is long, it is 14” two-sided. There are 4 constitutional amendments on the back of the ballot. We have many resources available on our website such as information on all the judges and the full text of the amendments.

On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned polling location. Absentee ballots may no longer be voted at the elections office on Election Day except in emergency circumstances. If you have an emergency and are unable to vote at your assigned precinct on Election Day, you will be required to complete an affidavit stating the nature of your emergency before being allowed to vote.
