Two transients were arrested early Tuesday evening in connection with a burglary of a home in the 200 block of Porpoise Point Drive according to a report received by Historic City News this morning.
The two men were identified as 23-year-old Drew Philip Jackson and 26-year-old Jarred Patrick Lee; both homeless. Both are charged with burglary to a residence. Jackson is also charged with petit theft and has an outstanding warrant from Washington County, Arkansas, for violation of probation.
The investigation began at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday when Deputy Ettel was responding to a reported burglary at a Porpoise Point Drive residence.
A neighbor reported the burglary and gave a description of the two suspects to the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Ettel observed two individuals riding bicycles westbound across the Vilano Bridge that matched the description of the two suspects.
The witness observed the two suspects climb a fence, enter the porch and home of the residence and leave with a tackle box. Further investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly kicked open a rear door to gain entry into the home.
During first appearance hearings this morning, Jackson was denied bond due to the outstanding Arkansas warrant while Lee was granted bail of $5,000.
