Letter: Stop stealing and tampering with campaign signs

Judith Seraphin
St Augustine, FL

Dear Historic City News editor:

In the past 7 days, almost all the political signs for Ron Stafford have been stolen from West Augustine, and Lincolnville, as well as various other parts of the city.

On Friday night, September 9th, the night before the Re Elect Mayor Shaver Kick Off at the Galimore Center, every Mayor Nancy Shaver’s sign was stolen from the entire length of South Street, even from her own front yard.

I am sure that this kind of bullying behavior is not approved by the candidates, but no Phillips or Horvath signs were taken, so I am writing this open letter to the supporters of Kris Phillips and Roxanne Horvath.

You know who you are, and this kind of action does no good, and only reflects badly on the candidates you think you are helping.

I see many various political signs, many that I do not agree with, but we are living in America, where we can voice our views without fear of reprisal.

I have reported this to the police. Let the signs alone. Allow each resident the right to show support for the candidates of their choice, even if their choice is not your choice.
