Dr. Saviak holds an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and an M.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. He also has a Ph.D. in Public Affairs and a law degree.
He teaches a dozen different courses at Flagler College covering a wide range of subjects in public management and public policy. His students are public sector administrators and professionals who serve in fifty different local and state government agencies across Northeast and Central Florida as well as individuals in the private and non-profit sectors.
Earlier Dr. Saviak worked as a senior administrator in local government, enabling him to bring a real-world perspective to the classroom. He is often asked to speak to audiences of policymakers and public managers on the strategies for successfully meeting the challenges facing local government in the 21st century.
