Missing man identified as victim in recent car crash

Homicide investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol reported two deaths to Historic City News last week involving a vehicle-vs-pedestrian on St Johns County highways.

One of those traffic homicides was cleared yesterday when the District 23 Medical Examiner positively identified the first victim as 81-year-old Vladimir Zripko who resided on Camden Cay Drive in St. Augustine.

On Thursday, November 24, the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office reported a call from Zripko’s wife, informing them that her husband had not been seen since last Tuesday.

It was believed at the time Zripko went missing that he suffered diminished cognitive abilities and reportedly showed signs of dementia. He had been known to wander the area.
