Notice regarding sanitary sewer overflow
In accordance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s new Public Notice of Pollution Rule (62ER16-1), the City of St. Augustine is providing notice to Historic City News and its readers of an estimated 9,000 gallon sanitary sewer overflow.
The incident occurred on Monday, October 3, 2016 on Solano Avenue in St. Augustine.
The estimated 9,000 gallon sanitary sewer overflow was contained by 12:45 pm. The overflow discharged to surface water at Quarry Creek, where bacteriological samples have been collected.
The spill site was cleaned and sanitized for bacteria and pathogen elimination.
