Harper Lee’s classic novel is the featured book for “St. Johns Reads” in February 2016. Libraries throughout St. Johns County will feature a variety of programs highlighting the lasting literary and cultural impact of To Kill a Mockingbird during the month of February.
Events will include book discussions, films, and presentations that will touch upon the many themes covered in Lee’s tale of Jim Crow justice set against the mysteries and wonderment of a 1930’s southern childhood.
Mary Badham will appear Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., before the film, to discuss her on-set experiences, her lifelong friendship with Gregory Peck, and the legacy of Harper Lee. The film will show at 7:00 p.m.
Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets for warmth and comfort and take advantage of the refreshments being sold at the Amphitheatre. General admission seating will be on a first come, first seated basis.
