Tree trimming scheduled for Old Town and Old City

Historic City News was informed that K&S Tree Service will be trimming trees within the right-of-way along streets located in the Old Town and Old City neighborhoods starting on Monday December 12th.

This trimming provides maintenance that complies with the city’s ordinance requiring an overhead clearance of 14 ft. above city streets and will not include trimming around electric, phone or cable facilities.

Streets in the affected area include:

• St George Street south of King Street
• Charlotte Street south of King Street
• Marine Street south of King Street
• South Street east of Cordova Street
• Bridge Street east of Cordova Street
• San Salvador Street
• Hendrick Street
• Tremerton Place
• Tremerton Street
• Aviles Street
• Bravo Lane
• Street Francis Street
• Charlotte Place

So that work may be completed safely and on-time, the community’s cooperation is greatly appreciated by not using on-street parking on the affected streets between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day through Friday December 16th.

No street closures are anticipated and all local traffic will have access to their properties. However, at isolated work areas, vehicular traffic will be narrowed to one lane with personnel stationed to assist with traffic. On-street parking may resume where work has been completed.
