Wanchick remains highest salaried employee in the history of administrators
Even before all the performance reviews were turned end, and with District 5 Commissioner Rachael Bennett absent, St Johns County Commission chairman Jeb Smith led those members present Tuesday to a 4-0 approval vote, increasing the pay of their two direct-hired employees.
County Administrator Michael Wanchick received a 3.6 percent raise, amounting to $7,232.87, resulting in a final annual salary of $208,145.87.
County Attorney Patrick McCormack received a 3.6 percent raise, amounting to $5,867.17, resulting in a final annual salary of $168,844.22.
The increased salaries are effective retroactively to October 11, 2015 according to Stacey Stanish, director of Administrative and Support Services.
The item was discussed by the four attending commissioners and voted at the end of the meeting without a lot of public discussion.
