The City of St. Augustine Beach is celebrating its 50th birthday all year long according to an announcement received by Historic City News today.
Events are ongoing throughout the year to commemorate the establishment of the 1959 beach-side community.
Soon banners will flap from light poles along A1A Beach Blvd to mark the occasion.
The City will be partying every week. Some of the events include: Twist n Shout on March 28th; Taste of the Beach on May 17th; a History Event with David Nolan and Dr. Susan Parker in August; A Jazz Fest on September 26th & 27th; Sand Sculpture contest; Farmer’s Market weekly; Seaside Serenades; Beach Blast Off March 29th; Splash Picnics; Veteran’s Park Ceremonies; Events by the Sea; a car show on June 14th…. all culminating in the biggest beach party seen yet at the St. Johns County Pier.
Bob Samuels, Friends of A1A board member and President of the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association, says this is the year to remember!
