Spring drawing and painting classes will be taught by resident artist Joan F. Tasca, painter and art instructor, according to an announcement received by Historic City News today.
Tasca’s oil paintings and drawings reflect interest in a variety of topics, including the figure, nature and other subjects, and at times exploring social issues, or just the subject. Elements like birds or red shoes are often symbolic in her art. She has won awards, and is represented in many private collections.
Teaching others at Flagler College while serving as a visiting instructor of drawing, Tasca also taught K-12 and adult education.
She teaches oil, acrylic, watercolor painting and drawing classes or private lessons. Her extensive formal training and years of painting have prepared her to teach students to see as an artist sees, working from the actual situation. Classes are forming now.
