Precautionary Boil Water Notice

Posted on 04/22/200804/25/2008 By Historic City News

Water
The Public Works Department of the City of St. Augustine will be making improvements to the water system in and around the Lewis Speedway area.

This will require a water outage and a possible drop in pressure from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. tomorrow, Wednesday, April 23, 2008.

Water will be turned off on Lewis Speedway from Varella Ave. to US-1; Avenue D from Lewis Speedway to First Street; Sartillo Road from Lewis Speedway to Porter Road and Old Lewis Speedway from Lewis Speedway in both directions.

The entire streets of the following will be affected: Janiero Street, Limon Street, Manucy Road, Tart Road, Plantation Point Drive, North Horseshoe Road, South Horseshoe Road, Roosevelt Terrace Road, DOT Road, Quail Drive, Mockingbird Lane, Plaza Del Ria Drive, Casa Blanca Court, Paloma Point, Barquero Court, Frontera Drive, and Corrientes Court.

After the turnoff at 9:00 A.M, as a precaution, all water used for drinking or cooking must be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water should be used.

This “Precautionary Boil Water Notice” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink.

If you have questions, concerns or need reasonable accommodations, please contact the Public Works Department at (904) 825-1040 or the Water Treatment Plant staff at (904)-825-1044.
