A joint workshop of city and county commissioners has been scheduled for June 3rd – the first such gathering in recent history, according to a report received by Historic City News.
Freshman County Commissioner Joseph K. Bryan hosted an unofficial workshop recently to discuss West Augustine improvement programs.
On the agenda for the 1:00 p.m. session in the Alcazar Room at City Hall:
– West Augustine improvement program
– Update on 500/450 commemoration plans
– Entry Corridor collaboration
– Historic Tax Exemption
Commissioners will look at overlap areas of entry corridors to the city in order to coordinate efforts between the city and county on the appearance of those corridors.
Our entry corridors are King Street, San Marco Avenue, and Anastasia Boulevard.
City Commission recently extended the city property tax exemption period on improvements to historic properties from five to ten years and are expected to be asking county commissioners to extend the county tax exemption as well.
