In an announcement published today, The Record says that the local newspaper will be printed in Jacksonville beginning August 1, 2009.
“There will be a net job reduction, but because of various factors, I can’t say exactly how many.” Record Publisher Derek May said Monday. “Decisions to eliminate jobs are extremely difficult to make.”
Some jobs will be lost, he said, but the actual number is still not known.
On Saturday, May announced that the price of home delivery of their printed newspaper will increase to $12.31 a month for customers in their “core market”.
Last week, Morris Publishing was granted a sixth extension on about $10 million in interest payments that have been due to creditors since February 1st.
