CRUISIN’ INTO SUMMER – AN EVENING WITH EPIC CHEFS
Set sail with EPIC Community Services and enjoy an evening of summer flavors while welcoming the Summer Solstice! Cruisin’ into Summer – An Evening with EPIC Chefs will be held in the brand new Virginia Room, at Flagler College’s Ringhaver Student Center on Sevilla Street in St. Augustine. Six of the Oldest City’s premier chefs will prepare delicious Summer-themed cuisine. Participating restaurants include: Gypsy Cab Co., Raintree Restaurant, A1A Ale Works, The Reef, Old City House Inn & Restaurant and Zhanra’s. In addition to the exquisite cuisine, guests will enjoy live music, fun and an exciting Silent Auction. An Evening with EPIC Chefs begins at 6 p.m. and promises to be a fun, relaxing, epicurean event! Tickets are $75 per person. FREE WEEKEND AT CASTILLO DE SAN MARCOS
Come explore the Castillo de San Marcos for free. The National Park Service is waiving entrance fees so all can experience history come alive. Throughout the weekend, the park staff and volunteers will present historic weapon firing demonstrations and living history programs about the culture of an eighteenth century Spanish garrison. The weapons demonstrations are offered at 10:30, 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 on both Saturday and Sunday, weather and staffing permitting. Ranger-led programs are presented every hour daily. FATHER’S DAY AT THE WORLD GOLF HALL OF FAME
Make Father’s Day special with a visit to the World Golf Hall of Fame! Admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame, which features the special exhibit “Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory,” is complimentary for everyone. On this day, fathers can also enjoy free admission at the Hall’s 18-hole, natural-grass Putting Course and half-off regular admission to a special engagement film at the IMAX Theater. ST. AUGUSTINE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Don’t miss the opening performance of the 2009 edition of the St. Augustine Music Festival! Featuring a different concert daily Sunday through Friday, the festival includes musicians from the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, Ritz Chamber Players, faculty from Stetson University and Jacksonville University along with special guests. All of the festival’s concerts will take place at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, 38 Cathedral Place. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. The festival opens on Sunday with Back to Bach at 3 p.m., followed by different performances each evening at 7:30 p.m. The schedule is: Monday, Mozart and More; Tuesday, Grace and Beauty; Wednesday, Summer Music; Thursday, Piano Spectacular; and Friday, Brandenburg Night. Pellicer Creek Aquatic Preserve Kayak Tour
Take an eco tour through one of the best kept natural estuaries in Florida and be a million miles from nowhere! Enjoy beautiful views of the Princess Place Preserve while a Florida Master Naturalist interprets local ecology, history, folklore, and proper kayaking techniques.
